COVID-19

27th June 2020

Dear friends,

MSP Fergus Ewing (Cabinet Secretary for Rural Economy and Tourism) has confirmed the phased re-opening of the tourism sector in Scotland and provided further clarity as to how this will be achieved.

Campsites are permitted to reopen with shared facilities such as shower blocks (if they are able to) from the 15th July 2020 and this is also the date that Campsie Campers will reopen.

It is highly recommended that campsites are booked in advance as some may have limited capacity. Those that are unable to open their shared facilities, will still be able to accept Campsie Campers fully self-contained campervans. To ensure you meet the self-contained category, Chemical WC’s are now mandatory for all reservations.

Please let campsites know when you are booking that you are a fully self-contained campervan. Campsites with waste-disposal and freshwater facilities are ideal for clients to empty WCs and refill your 30L freshwater tanks. It is unknown at this stage if campsites will allow use of these facilities for a fee to anyone other than customers.

Outdoor activities are also open from the 29th June 2020 and booking activities in advance is recommended. This includes visitor attractions such as castles. Please let us know if you would like any advice on local activities for your first or last night’s hire.

We look forward to welcoming you soon.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us info@campsiecampers.co.uk

Best wishes,

The Team at Campsie Campers.

12th June 2020

Dear friends,

The Scottish Government have announced that tourism businesses should prepare to open from July 15th 2020.

Whilst this is welcome news to businesses such as ours, this date will depend on Public Health Advise and progression to phase 3 on the route map.

Campsie Campers have implemented the appropriate safety guidelines and will be able to welcome clients from this date if the Government Advice allows.

We are mindful that this date is provisional and may change. We have therefore implemented new favourable terms with total flexibility, minimal deposit payment, full refunds or credits, which adapt for these uncertainties.

We want all our clients to enjoy a stress free Campervan Hire experience with Campsie Campers knowing that your health, safety and finances are of paramount importance to us.

Should Government restrictions prevent you from travelling on your chosen dates, the following flexible terms apply:

  • A £25 non-refundable deposit Reserves your Campervan and you can start to get excited for your next adventure!
  • Changes of dates, or cancellation up to 30 days prior to your hire, are free with no additional charges. Please be aware however, that rates change based on seasons throughout the year if you wish to choose different dates.
  • We will request 25% of your booking fee (along with documents required for insurance) 30 days before your hire date. This gives us all time to evaluate the situation at this stage and change your dates or cancel if necessary, with no further payment.
  • The remaining 75% balance will be requested only 7 days before collection. If your campervan holiday is affected by Covid-19 at this stage, no further payment is necessary and we will refund your 25% deposit or change your dates if requested.
  • In addition, 75% of your booking fee is completely refundable up to the point of collection with your 25% being returned to you as a customer credit to use with us in future if Covid/travel restrictions affect you within the last 7 days.

Once again, we wish you all the very best of health and look forward to welcoming you in the near future.

Best wishes,

1st June 2020

Dear friends,

Today was the day we, with hopeful hearts, had anticipated potentially opening our doors to campervanners once again.

However, due to the ongoing pandemic and the knock-on effects (on rural communities and services, on campsites working at reduced capacity) we sadly have to extend our closure to rentals. We now aim to open 3rd July 2020 and will individually contact clients directly affected by this extension.

As I’m sure you can understand, we prioritise the safety and wellbeing of our clients and communities above all else.

Should you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

We wish you all the best of health and hope to welcome you in the future.

Best wishes,

The Team at Campsie Campers.

20th March 2020

Dear friends,

In regards to the current Coronavirus crisis, whilst the Government has advised against all non-essential travel, there has been no direct advice given on domestic travel within the UK for businesses such as ourselves.

In order to protect our loved ones, communities and clients, it is with deep regret and heavy hearts we have decided to close Campsie Campers until 1st June 2020.

We will be available for communication but will no longer be sending our Campervans on the road during this time.

As a small, family run business on the cusp of expansion, we are deeply saddened to announce this news.

However, we feel it irresponsible to continue trading until Government measures to restrict travel are officially imposed in the UK.

In order to prevent undue pressure on remote community services and to prevent further spread of COVID-19, we have taken the moral decision to no longer send our campervans or clients on their travels.

We apologise to all clients affected by this closure. We will contact each of you individually to offer postponement or issue 75% refunds where appropriate and 25% customer credits to be used at a later date, when travel becomes safe again. We hope you find these terms favourable.

We apologise too, to the establishments struggling to stay open in the current climate, with reduced staff numbers and extra safety precautions, that we will no longer be able to support you by sending visitors your way.

We hope you understand our ethical decision is primarily to protect our communities and nation as a whole.

We are accepting new bookings from 1st of June 2020 and will keep up-to-date with information provided by the UK Government as announcements are made.

In the event that imposed travel restrictions by the UK Government (or International Governments that apply to you) affect your reservation after 1stJune 2020, the following flexible cancellation policy will apply:

  • For reservation dates more than 30 days in the future, you can either change your dates, or your deposit can be refunded in full.
  • For bookings within 30 days we can either apply the full balance of your hire to a Customer Credit for any future bookings with us. OR we can refund your 75% balance and retain your 25% deposit as a Customer Credit for future bookings with us.

We wish everyone the best of health in the coming months and hope to welcome you again in the future.

Best wishes,

The Team at Campsie Campers.

16th March 2020

Dear friends,

I'm sure you are all aware of the global presence of the Covid-19 Coronavirus and the rapidly developing implications that it is having on our daily lives.

Here at Campsie Campers people come first. This encompasses our staff and customers as well as the wider community. We have prepared an action plan that will help ensure we do our part on beating this virus and protecting all of us along the way.

This action plan not only involves the disinfection on top of our regular deep cleaning of all vehicles, but also the training and safety measures for our staff, customers and suppliers to ensure they remain safe.

At the time of writing, there are no travel restrictions domestically in the UK and there has never been a better time to explore our own environment. The level of contact with situations of exposure to Covid-19 in a Campervan in Scotland is minimal and for those looking to escape the masses, this type of holiday is a realist alternative to international travel. Client vehicles can be left securely at our village base in Fintry.

As this situation is rapidly evolving, we are mindful of people's ability to make the journey to their chosen collection/transfer point. For some of our international visitors this is either currently not advised or not possible.

In the event of travel restrictions being imposed by the UK Government or International Governments that apply to you, the following options are available:

  • For reservation dates more than 30 days in the future, you can either change your dates, or your deposit can be refunded in full.
  • For bookings within 30 days we can either apply the full balance of your hire to a Customer Credit for any future bookings with us. OR we can refund your 75% balance and retain your 25% deposit as a Customer Credit for future bookings with us.

**Please Note: Our Standard Terms & Conditions apply to any cancellations that are not as a direct consequence of UK or International Governments imposing travel restrictions.

We will keep abreast of all of the current news and will try to contact those directly affected, as information becomes available.

Now is the time to be looking after ourselves and others that are vulnerable in our communities.

We wish you all the best of health and hope to welcome you in the future.

Best wishes,

The Team at Campsie Campers.
